Sorry for the long delay in updates. Really nothing to exciting has happened. Austin kicks all the time now, and will actually MOVE my belly. It's wild. We started working with the babies at church to get some "practice" in. So there is a bunch of ladies and then Ken. They love him tho, he usually gets 2 babies at a time because he can hold them both. One lady told me "you have nothing to worry about with Ken" and she is right. He will be very helpful as a daddy. We have taken 4 of the "Birth and Beginnings" classes. We got a nice little booklet, watched several videos, and practiced labor positions and "caring for baby". Next week is a tour of the hospital labor rooms!!
Oh, I should also report that James and Kate have gotten engaged. The wedding date is looking like January 10, 2009! Very exciting!
Today was my 28 week appointment! I had the glucose test- drinking 50 gm of glucose and then bloodwork. I won't have results until my next appt in 2 weeks, unless they call me. I met one of the other practitioners- Dr. O'Neil. She was very nice, and has a 50% chance of being there for the delivery. My belly measurements were normal (I can't believe this looking at how big I am now!) and she found the heartbeat right away.
Ken is away on business right now, so the weekend will be a little lonely. I think Flurry has a cold or something else going on so I am planning to take him to the vet first thing in the morning. I also hope to work on the Nursery some this weekend. I have quite a bit to do there!! We took some pictures yesterday before Ken left. And now, my largeness for your viewing pleasure...
Ken's beard. I really liked it. But, he was not so fond of it. So he has plans to shave it off in the hotel room, thus not making a mess at home. Isn't that sweet of him?!

Thanks for the update! It's great to hear that all is well and you're both getting lots of practice in. Ken is like Mom-kids love him instantly, so I'm sure he'll have Austin wrapped around his finger.
Melinda-I know you feel huge, but you look fabulous!
Ken you're beard doesn't look bad-maybe hang on to it for a bit?
Please pass on our congratulations to James and Kate and wish them the best for us.
Update us again when you can.
Amy
